Jürgen Happe
Born in Ulm, Germany. Studied Comparative Literature and Philosophy at the Freie Universität Berlin and at the Université Paris VIII. In 1997/98, she worked as a scientific assistant at the Theodor Fontane-Archive in Potsdam, organising and supervising the Fontane-Celebrations in Berlin-Brandenburg. From 1999 to 2003, she was scientific assistant at the Department for Gender Studies at the University of Hamburg. Her dissertation deals with the current crises of masculinity in terms of a conservative criticism of capitalism. Since 2004, she is a member of the editing team of read relations; she acts in this project as a scientific consultant and is co-editing the relations publication. In addition, she works as a freelance journalist in the field of contemporary literature and film. Her recent publications are: "Gender Revisited. Notions of Subject and Politics in Culture and Media", J.B. Metzler, 2002; "A Thinking Leading to Death. Suicide - The Taboo and its Breaks", Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht, 2004.
